The cast of characters
First up a warm-up game of... I can't remember the name of this game but it involves trying to flip a coin in a cup. If successful the person to your left must take a drink. Simple game, simple rules. Simple in theory but a little harder in practice. It has been a few years. 
Kuby is putting a lot of concentration in this game, probably because d is sitting to his left.

Now that everyone is warmed up, it is time for the real game at hand. Blind Baseball!
Everyone is dealt a hand of cards. The first person lays down his cards until he has a poker hand. He then takes a drink and play moves to the person to his left. That person lays down cards until he beats the hand of the person before him. He takes a drink and play moves on. If you miss the fact that your hand beats the previous played hand, then you must chug. That's where the famous orange cup comes in. The game requires some concentration but as the night goes on that becomes harder to do. Those are the basic rules but there are many confusing rules added on. And there is usually much arguing as to what those rules are and tonight's game was no exception.
Here is Harvey studying his cards making sure he doesn't make a mistake.

Koz studying his cards. Must he drink, chug, ask for another card? No wonder engineers play this game. As Paula would say, "This is hard!".
One clear rule, NO pointing allowed. That infraction earns a chug. 
Think, think! What should I do?
One sure bet, a good time was had by all.

especially as the night goes on and one is playing with a few beers under their belt.

Harvey sat to my right and it seemed like he couldn't miss in the quarters game. Needless to say I was feeling alright by the time blind baseball started.

that's what i was going to say. he's drinking out of the orange cup. only one thing could be in that.
Me and my crew play Thumper. The rules won't be released for another 30 years.
