Picture Postcards

I thought I would share a few pictures from my recent trip to Florida with my not that much younger sister and K.

This is the path we walked every day to get to the beach. It really was that pretty.

A few of my favorites of K.

Here we are engaging in our favorite activity, shelling. We were out every morning at dawn and almost every night at sunset. Sometimes we would go in the middle of the day just because we could! I think on Friday we spent 6 hours shelling. I think K was over the shelling by Wednesday but C and I never tired of it.

Now some of us had better eyes for spotting the "good" shells versus the just the ordinary. More than once we mentioned to K we were looking for a specific shell and within minutes she would come up with what we were looking for. Some of us have such old eyes that she took to drawing arrows in the sand pointing to a shell with a treasure hidden underneath. Thanks, K!

If our favorite activity was shelling then K's was swimming in the pool. We made at least one trip if not two every day to spend some time in the swimming pool. When I was looking for a place to stay her mother said we didn't need a pool because K wouldn't enjoy it anyway. She was wrong. She loved the pool. We did too because it became a great way to escape the heat of the day.

We, or should I say C, decided we should try parasailing. I'm not sure I liked it as much as she did, it reminded me of a ferris wheel which I don't enjoy all that much. But the views were incredible and we did get to see a manatee while in the air. We tried to convince K to go but she would have nothing to do with it. Maybe next year.

This is probably my favorite picture of the week.

Just one more. By the end of the week K was over having her picture taken and you are probably tired of looking at them so I will leave you with this.

I love the pictures! You forgot to mention that you ALWAYS had to check what Miss K had hidden under the shells. Every once in awhile it was a good one. You just couldn't trust her.

You lost some good shells because I was the chosen one! That made up for all those trips to check under those shells.

I love that last one, with her hands over her face. Too adorable.
