Four Grills Out Of Five

After all the talk I have finally tried the ribs. I started yesterday by marinating them in balsamic vinegar and root beer. Strange I know, but I got this recipe from my not that much younger brother so the blame goes to him if they don't turn out. Today I wrapped them in foil with more marinade and baked them in the oven. I need to remember to use heavy duty foil next time because I had some problems with the ribs poking through the foil.

So far so good. The two and a half hours in the oven is up and now I must get Dave away from the Masters and on to grill duty.

The ribs are now on the grill and they look good! Now they are getting a root beer glaze.

and they are ready to eat. Ribs, roasted asparagus and garlic bread.

Ahhhhhh, they are now just a memory.

All in all they turned out pretty good. They were falling off the bone and very tender. We decided they ranked 4 out of 5 grills. They lost a grill because of the root beer sauce. It was just too sweet for our taste. We decided that next time we are going to use some kind of barbeque sauce. But I have to say they were still really good and best of all they are really easy. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

I probably should have told you to use heavy duty aluminum foil, I found out the hard way too.

The root beer glaze is sweet and is why I only do it about once a year.

I preferred method anymore is just salt and pepper and bbq sauce in the end.

That is the easiest and most fool proof method I have seen for ribs. Glad they turned out.

It is hard to tell what D was watching on TV with that glare off the back of his head.

Oh, by the way, I am glad to see you aren't using a gas grill.

So if I'm not going to use root beer and should use bbq, do I buy one made up or is there a secret recipe for a really good one out there that someone's little bit older brother might have and would be willing to share?

I hate to tell you but that is a gas grill. Sorry but we love it.

And I need that secret recipe too.

Gas grill? You just ruined it for me.

As far as the bbq sauce goes I sent it back with someone, I won't mention names, and it all got left over at Amy's house. They promptly thawed it all out and it all got wasted. It was suppose to be delivered to curlz house. What can I say.

If you are interested I can send one that is really easy to make, you don't have to cook anything and probably have all the ingredients. The other one I have been making recently has to be cooked for about 2 hours.

I am not sure the one that doesn't need to be cooked might not be better anyway.

I'm sad (and maybe embarrassed) to admit that I recognized the parts of the golf game Uncle D was watching on TV.

Yes, Scott's slowly turning me into a golf fan. Ugh.

I love your pictures.

You and my mom both have a natural talent for photography.

Thanks, I have a long way to go but I really enjoy taking pictures. I just need more willing subjects.

Shaelynn, would you believe all my friends golf, D golfs, I watch golf on tv and I live on a golf course but I don't golf. Go figure!

I sometimes have two hours to cook things. Can I have both?
