Here are the pictures I promised to post, John. You really were a cute baby! Someday I will go through my old pictures and see what else I have.
For the fans of black and white.......

Yay! I love these pictures. I think we had one that was similar to this where I was kissing John and he was crying hysterically.
Is that peanut butter I see in little j's hair?
Sure, John looks adorable, and so do Michael and Joni. Me? I look really awkward. Did you see my teeth? Ugh...
Is that Mickey's real hair color?
No, the peanut butter will come later. After the gum.
I can't wait for that story to get told. I even remember that and that is saying something. Oh, the crying that went on that day.
Does anyone NOT remember the gum-in-the-hair incident?I mostly remember John (known then as John-John) being so proud of himself when he plucked that gum out of his mouth and stuck it on his head... well, he was proud until the peanut butter and ice came out and THEN I remember the tears. What a great memory... :)
oh man. i thought it had been forgotten. and to be fair, i was known as john john edson porter. i don't often put gum in my hair anymore, that's for sure. i still remember the pain from that day.
oh my gosh shae im so glad you said that i had completely forgotten! we must have had front row seats to that incident because i clearly remember that proud look too!
Now that you mention it, Shae, I do remember the look on his face. He was so proud of himself. And that gum stuck in his hair was so funny. What a great memory!
No one will ever forget "John John" or the gum.I, too, love these pictures. Thanks for posting these, Aunt Carrie.
I'm now beginning to recollect more about the story... wasn't it a huge wad of grape BubbleYum? I just remember a huge wad of purple gum sitting on top of that blonde head.I'm still laughing about it!And, yes, John, I remember you being called John-John Edson Porter. I'm glad you said that! That must've been the summer we were obsessed with asking you what your name was.
