I took the picture of the flowers on Aran Island when I was in Ireland a few years ago.
The following photo is a house that was abandoned during the famine. If you look closely you can still see the potato furrows in the background. This was taken near the town of Galway where some of our relatives lived. We had stopped in this spot to eat our lunch. I think it is important to remember where we came from because we owe a lot to those who came before us.
